Income tax dates and deadlines 2016/17

Here are some useful dates to keep in mind for the coming year.

5/4/2017
– 2016/17 tax year ended, HMRC will issue notice to complete a tax return

31/7/2017– 2nd POA due for tax year 2016/17

5/10/2017– If you received untaxed income or gains during 6 April 2016 to 5 April 2017 need to notify HMRC by this date

31/10/2017- Filing deadline for paper returns to be submitted to HMRC

31/1/2017– Filling deadline for electronic returns and payment of tax.
If any of the above deadlines are missed then penalties and interest could be charged by HMRC.
